Effectively yes. Sintered porcelain is fired above 1,200 °C, so a hot pan will not damage it.

Is porcelain good for outdoor kitchens?

Yes, and it is the best choice. Porcelain is UV stable and survives freeze-thaw cycles, unlike quartz which fades.

Why is porcelain so thin?

Slabs are usually 6–12 mm. The edge is mitred into a 40–60 mm apron so the countertop reads as substantial.

It is highly scratch resistant but can chip on sharp impact at an edge, which is why fabrication handling matters.
