Short answer: shoot in daylight with the counters cleared, stand back far enough to see the whole run, and hold the phone at chest height rather than overhead.
Clear the counters
The visualizer replaces the surface you brush over. Kettles, fruit bowls and knife blocks break the illusion and cost you accuracy.
Use daylight
Warm kitchen downlights push everything yellow, which makes cool grey slabs look beige. Mid-morning daylight with the lights off gives the truest result.
Get the whole run in frame
Seeing the counter meet the backsplash and the cabinet edge helps you judge scale and vein direction — which is the thing most people get wrong when choosing from a small sample.
