Short answer: seams belong at sink cut-outs, at inside corners, or under a bank of upper cabinets where sightlines are weakest — never in the middle of an open run.
Ask for the layout
Any fabricator should show you a slab layout drawing before cutting. If they will not, that is your answer about how much thought is going into it.
Colour matters more than skill
A busy Calacatta hides a seam beautifully. A solid pure white shows every one. If a seamless look is your priority, choose a veined slab.
The epoxy tell
Good shops tint the bonding epoxy to the slab, mixing to the vein colour on site. Generic white epoxy in a dark counter is the single most common reason a seam looks bad five years later.
