What that number covers
- Removing, numbering and reinstalling every door and drawer front
- Degreasing, scuff-sanding to 220 grit and a dedicated bonding primer
- Two coats of catalysed 2K polyurethane, sprayed off-site in a booth

- Hinge adjustment and new bumpers
What is genuinely extra
Grain filling on oak, new hardware supply and fitting, glass inserts, and painting a matching pantry or island in a second colour. Everything else should already be in the number.
Three quotes to be suspicious of
The one under $1,500. That is a brush-and-roll job in your kitchen with wall-paint primer. It will look acceptable for a season.
The one that will not say what primer. Adhesion lives or dies on the primer. A company that cannot name theirs has not thought about it.
The one that quotes per hour. You are carrying the risk of their slow day.
Painting versus replacing
New cabinets for the same kitchen run $18,000–$40,000 and take four to eight weeks. Refacing sits between at $9,000–$14,000. Paint changes colour; it does not change door style, layout or a water-damaged box.
